During the pandemic, many people have turned their homes into green sanctuaries with indoor gardens filled with amazing plants. However, it’s not always easy to keep them healthy and thriving, especially when the Instagram-perfect images of plants can be overwhelming. If you’re struggling to keep your plants looking their best, don’t worry! This article provides all the essential tools and tips you need to keep your indoor garden lush and thriving.

The apps


Planta: Keep your plant alive. Our favourite: you take a picture of your plant and the app does the rest. It will send you a notification when you need to water it. On the free version of the app, you can create your little garden. Their blog site will also inform you on new trends, pet-friendly plants and more.
On the premium part of this app, it will help you report it, help to find the best plant for you depending on your place (light, humidity etc) and your skills! However, if you do not feel like paying for this app, you can use the next one.


Picture this: Plant identifier. You wanted to be a doctor? Well, this app helps you with saving your plant. You only need to take a picture and it will identify the plant and diagnose it. It will also give you tips on how to make sure that your plant lives as long as possible.

Even with these apps, sometimes, watering is an issue, you overwatered your plant or even with the apps notification just forgot. Below you can find some tools and DIYs to help you with overwatering or underwatering.

DIY:

Adjust your pot: You can adjust your pot by placing the plant higher than the bottom to leave a bit of space for the water to run down. We wrote an article about this DIY just here.

The water sphere: This water sphere will save your plant for your weekend away: easy to use, they will water the plant slowly. You can just fill it with water before you go on holiday. Check a few hours before leaving to see if the water level is dropping as the soil can clog the spere.
