5 best ingredients to prepare your best summer skin

Summer is coming closer and closer and you need your skin to be prepared. I want to have my skin prepared to tan a little and stay glowy and hydrated. Dehydration, sun and burns are problems for my super-white skin and it impacts early-ageing. However certain diets help the skin to be prepared. You need to make sure that it stayed hydrated and ready to capture the sun. Here are a few ingredients easy to drink in juices that will help your skin.

Carrot:

First, we love it because you can find it easily during the summer at your farmers market. this is a summer season vegetable.

Vitamins: beta carotene, and vitamin K.

Skin: beta carotene already is in the skin but will help with the pigmentation of your skin cell. It will help your skin during the summer to have and keep a nice tan. Vitamin K will help your skin restore its balance and work on scars the summer can leave.

Other benefits: it is known to prevent Xerophthalmia an eye disease and boost the immune system.

Carrot juice is easy to find but you can also eat a carrot in a salad or cooked in olive oil or vapour.

PS: be careful with your intake of vitamin A has this is known to be toxic.

Cucumber:

As well as carrots, cucumbers are a must-have for the summer: easy to find, easy to eat and super fresh and hydrating.

Vitamins: vitamin C, Iron, high in nutrients.

Skin: cucumber is re-known for its hydration power. it is helping with breakout and prevent from premature ageing.

Other benefits: it is low in calorie and refreshing. It can be eaten all day long without any scare of weight taking. Cucumber can be used in juice or as a face mask.

Apple:

Easy to find during all season, apple is a must-have in your kitchen. Easy snack, good cold or warm, you can eat it all day long. Also as the quote says “one apple a day takes the doctor away”.

Vitamins: polyphenol ( antioxidants), vitamin C.

Skin: the vitamins will help with premature ageing caused mainly by sun radiation.

Other benefits: apples are low in calories so they are the perfect snack during a weight loss. They also are known to boost immunity. 

Ginger:

Can be used during summer or winter ginger is used as a medicine as well as in cooking tea or even oil.

Vitamins: iron, potassium, vitamin C, B3 and B6, antioxidants.

Skin: ginger is a superfood for your skin: it improves elasticity, prevent premature ageing and help with damage on your skin.

Other benefits: ginger is known to help with the flu or sore throat. It also helps with inflammation.

Orange or Lemon:

This is our least favourite as during the summer you will mostly find oranges from other countries … why would you want to pay £4 for oranges coming from the other side of the world and not that tasty? You should, however, use lemon as not only is this hydrating, it is in season and it is refreshing and detoxifying.

Vitamins: vitamins C and B3, fibre, nutrient

Skin: Do not use lemon directly on your skin as it could create rashes. However, lemon with its vitamin c and B3 helps with even pigmentation skin (lovely golden tan coming here), help with preventing dry skin and early ageing skin. 

Other benefits: known to be one of the main ingredients of the weird detox, lemon is actually a great help during weight loss or detox. with all of its nutrients, lemons added to warm water in the morning will help your stomach and body wake up !! Warning: if you have a stomach ache easily check with your doctor as this could make it worth.
